Solar Energy as renewable energy

Solar energy is a widely used renewable energy source that has seen significant growth in recent years. In February 2024, solar accounted for 83.6% of new capacity, showcasing its expanding role in the energy market.
The efficiency and cost of solar power have dramatically improved, with costs dropping from $5 per module watt to just $0.06, an 83-fold decrease. This has made solar energy increasingly competitive with traditional energy sources. Solar technology allows for the conversion of sunlight into electricity, either directly through photovoltaics or indirectly through concentrated solar power, providing a clean and sustainable energy alternative.

What is a Changeover Switch?

What is a Changeover Switch?
A Changeover Switch, also known as a Transfer Switch, is a type of electrical switch used to connect or disconnect a circuit from one power source to another. These switches are commonly used in electrical systems to change power sources or alter the flow of electrical current.

Changeover switches are available in manual and automatic forms. In manual Changeover Switches, the power source change is performed by an operator, while in automatic Changeover Switches, the power source change is done automatically by a control and electronic system.

Changeover switches are widely used in electrical systems due to their ability to quickly and easily change power sources. For example, in emergency systems where the main power source is disrupted, a Changeover Switch can switch the power source to a backup source, preventing system downtime. Additionally, in power supply systems, online Changeover Switches are used to distribute and balance the load between different generators.
